We often refer to “suits” and write about “suits” based on English fashion terms. Because the British gave birth to “suit” and nothing could be more standard when using English itself to talk about suits.

    1. What is “Suit”?

“Suit” is a complete outfit consisting of a jacket (suit jacket) and pants (dress trousers), sewn from the same fabric, with the same material, color and texture. In Vietnam “suit” is a little used term in everyday life, in which many people refer to “vest”, and in this case “suit” is a wrong term, instead of saying “suit “You can say complet”(borrowed from French “complet”).

In the case of a suit jacket worn with a non-uniform fabric, not the same color or texture, for example, you wear a jacket with jeans, which inadvertently makes it no longer a jacket.

    2. Classify how to tailor suit

–Ready-to-Wear (suit): As a suit, you only need to buy and wear without having to tailor anything.

–Made-to-measure (suit): A type of suit that belongs to tailoring, however, the tailor will measure your body based on the sewing frame or the cover pattern available.

    – Bespoke (suit): A type of tailoring line, tailors will measure your body indicators in the most meticulous way, you will be set up a sewing frame or your own cover pattern, guaranteed fit and fit to a perfect level. Bespoke is the most advanced type of tailoring.

    3. The lapel type of the jacket

    – The Notch lapel: Vietnamese is often called the V-tick. This is the most popular and easy-to-wear lapel type, in addition to the V-shaped lapel with the least formality in the 3 basic lapel styles of the jacket suit.

    – The Peak lapel: Vietnamese is often referred to as slanted tick, this type of lapel looks powerful, often accompanied by double-breasted suit (suit jacket has 2 buttons).

    – The Shawl lapel: Vietnamese is often called slippery. Or appear with tuxedos, there is a different fabric material than the overall suit, usually made of satin or silk fabric.

    4. Distinguish suit from English, Italian, American with split lines (vent)

There are many different characteristics between the three standard British, Italian and American suits. But the fact shows that now there are many suits created between the blend of characteristics of these three types, whether a suit jacket “on Italy under England” or vice versa is not surprising, that makes one must conceive of a characteristic of distinguishing gold from the British, Italian, and American standards, based on the traditional characteristics of the flap.

    – No vent (no split line): The traditional Italian-style suit jacket does not have flattened sugar, Italians are not suitors, but they make the suit, in some respects, look surf more but still very manly, power with chest blouse, padded shoulders high, wide and slim waist accentuating V-shaped body.

    – Single vent: a traditional American-style suit jacket has a flawless slash line, a free thought, a traditional American suit is quite comfortable, yet has little respect for the wearer’s body.

    – Double vent (2 slices): Suit jacket with traditional English style has 2 flaps, a suit that fits in the body, with little or no padded shoulders. Classic but youthful, think of a traditional English suit.

    5. Basic suit styles and buttons

    – Jacket suit type one button (1-button): Button when standing and unbuttoning when sitting.

    – 2-button jacket suit (2-button): Only one button is installed, which is the top button.

    – 3-button jacket type (3-button): Same as the above two styles, not buttoned at the bottom, buttoned in the middle or you can install buttons at the top.

    – Double breasted jacket style suit: Double can be buttoned at the bottom or can install all buttons, but never remove all buttons when sitting.

    6. Suit 2 piece (2-piece suit) and suit 3 piece (3-piece suit)

Suit 2 piece (2-piece suit) consists of 2 basic things that are jacket (suit jacket) and pants (dress trousers). Suit 3 piece (3-piece suit) is a 2-piece suit but with a gilet (French) or also called a vest (English).
