Winter 2019 echoes British sophistication and features the colors, patterns and fabrics associated with the countryside. There is an emphasis on balance, particularly between functionality and elegance. Heritage fabrics, classic tartans and soft Scottish cashmere all highlight the collection and pay tribute to the Anglo influence that is at the heart of Brooks Brothers—and American style.
Sweaters
remain a central focus of the winter delivery, and this season we’ve expanded
the collection with a nod to Brooks Brothers past and an eye to its future. Our
luxurious cashmere program returns with classic silhouettes, including
crewnecks and V-necks, while adding a new half-zip option and
sweatshirt-inspired piece for warm layering. Traditional lambswool cable crews,
modern merino, festive fair isles, donegals and a bold patchwork cardigan
reinforce the message of elevated knitwear. A plush camelhair cardigan with
unique stitching and our vintage tennis sweater—taken directly from our
archives—are statement pieces in this well-appointed collection.
Innovation
and performance remain at the core of the outerwear collection. A “Minotech”
parka made from an innovative two-layer Italian fabric, a Black Watch tartan
waxed jacket and walking coat, a down-filled ripstop nylon puffer (made without
visible stitching), and a two-layer washable trench are designed for high-tech
endurance in the elements. Harris Tweed, a beloved heritage fabric, can be
found in a classic overcoat and a patchwork sport coat.
Our
iconic shirt collection continues to expand, offering something new for each
lifestyle. We go beyond classic cotton fabrics to include cashmere and wool
blends and innovative CoolMax for comfort and polish. Our Signature Tartan
non-irons return with holiday-inspired colors and patterns. Our favorite
flannel shirt is now available in three styles, including traditional, a soft
cotton-wool option and ultra-warm cotton-cashmere version. It’s a range
dedicated to plush comfort and all manner of luxury.
Tailoring continues to evolve—while keeping a foot in the American sartorial tradition. Suiting and sport coats provide warmth and functionality while maintaining the polish required of professional wear. Harris Tweed sport coats, complete with traditional elbow patches, are cast in three seasonal colors. The traditional double-breasted jacket continues to be a big message and is seen in a corduroy blazer and select suits. A new striped version of our iconic navy blazer is introduced and can be worn to holiday occasions. As always, formalwear and festive tailoring is a key part of our late winter deliveries, and a classic black velvet tuxedo jacket joins newer takes of green and navy velvet. All are designed to pair back to tartan dress trousers for a fresh look that rethinks the holiday dress code.
