With the start of the new year, Brooks Brothers ends its year- long bicentennial anniversary celebration. Spring 2019 begins to chart a course for the next 200 years, with a focus on reinvention and renewal. Comfort, high-tech performance and quality craftsmanship come together to create a collection that is perfectly suited to the modern lifestyle. It was inspired by the small, intimate moments that mark each day—from the morning ritual to the commute home at night.
The evolution of our fine tailoring continues this season, with soft construction reinforcing our focus on comfort. These lightweight pieces offer the performance of sportswear and the polish of tailoring. The classic double-breasted sport coat and suit jacket return in solid and patterned styles. A call to embrace color defines this season—sweaters and ties in shades of such as salmon, lavender and pale blue act as simple ways to update a tailored look.
Windowpane continues to be a message in sport coats, shirts and outerwear, offering a break from solid color. This classic pattern provides subtle graphic interest, while elsewhere, bold stripes lend a sporty feel in several key pieces.
Outerwear remains a major focus for spring, and protection from the elements is essential. An innovative four-way stretch fabric is used across three silhouettes: the bomber, the hybrid and the field jacket. This high-tech material aids in movement and provides the wearer greater overall comfort. We’ve even reinterpreted the classic sport trench with a modern cut that offers versatility in dressing up and down.
Refinement can be found throughout the casual collection. Our 2-ply merino is lightweight and washable, so sweaters are exceptionally suited for travel—and layering. Our Supima® cotton collection returns, in multiple spring colors and silhouettes, from crewneck to cardigan. Heathered non-iron oxfords provide texture and visual interest, especially when layered with knits. Lastly, our popular Advantage Chinos return in lightweight and regular and have a touch of stretch for endless comfort.
The Spring 2019 collection is meant to reinvigorate. From bold pops of color to the smart mix of patterns, a sense of freshness carries through. The focus on superior performance, innovative construction and tech fabrics brings Brooks Brothers’ next two centuries into sight.
